Ocular
disease
management
is
the
medical diagnosis
and
treatment of
eye disease. Commonly treated diagnoses include: glaucoma, ocular allergies, conjunctivitis (pink eye) and dry eye syndrome. | Dr. Sepich also monitors diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Dr. Sepich will communicate her results with the patient's primary medical doctor, and refer to retinal specialists if intervention is indicated.
Although Dr. Sepich does not perform surgery, she does co-manage in
surgical cases such as cataract removal and
Lasik vision correction. She can perform some of the pre-operative and post-operative
care to reduce the number of
your visits to the surgeon. This is done as a service to the patient to maintain continuity of care. Dr. Sepich keeps an open line of communication with area ophthalmologists to
provide best care for her patients.Dr. Sepich also monitors
ocular conditions that may arise from high risk medications such as plaquenil therapy. These patients receive dilated eye examinations and visual fields every six months and results are shared with the prescribing physician.
Some systemic conditions, such as multiple sclerosis and diabetes, can cause accompanying eye disease. Dr. Sepich routinely examines these high-risk patients for early signs of eye disease to provides prompt treatment. Dr. Sepich utilizes
advanced technology, such as
Optical Coherence Tomography,
to assist with diagnosis, evaluation,
and
treatment of
eye disease. |
